Built for
Aesthetics. Only.
We don't work with restaurants, law firms, or e-commerce brands. We go deep in one industry because depth is what creates real results for our clients.
The Idea That
Started Everything
Social MD was built on a simple observation: the aesthetic industry is full of talented practitioners who are invisible online — and full of generic marketing agencies who have no idea how aesthetic patients actually make decisions.
We saw the gap. We built the bridge.
Everything we've built — our systems, our frameworks, our creative approach — has been designed specifically for the world of aesthetics. We understand the patient psychology. We understand the clinical nuances. We understand what premium positioning looks like in this space and how to build it.
The result is a system that works — not because it follows best practices, but because it's been refined specifically for the patients your practice is trying to attract.
Vaughn Lee has spent 17+ years at the intersection of creativity, culture, and commerce, building brands before most people understood what that meant. Today he leads Social MD, the only marketing agency built exclusively for the aesthetic medicine space. His clients don't just grow their social presence. They build the kind of brand infrastructure that attracts patients, commands premium pricing, and positions a practice for long-term scale.
Vaughn's path to the aesthetic industry didn't start in a marketing textbook. It started in a recording studio.
As a music producer working with independent artists in California, Vaughn quickly realized that talent alone doesn't build a career. Visibility does. When YouTube was still finding its footing, he was already teaching artists how to use video and social platforms to build audiences without a label behind them. He invested in his own skills in videography, content strategy, and digital marketing — not because it was a career plan, but because the artists he believed in needed someone who could do it.
That instinct to invest in people carried forward. When he returned to the East Coast, he applied the same framework to a new industry: the beauty world. Helping his wife launch and grow her salon, he discovered that the principles were identical. Build local presence, create content that converts, and make the brand undeniable in its market. Her space now houses 10+ professionals across multiple disciplines. The playbook worked.
From there, a personal passion deepened a professional niche. Vaughn has always understood skin — not academically, but lived. Managing eczema from an early age made skincare and aesthetic health personal long before it became professional. That familiarity with the aesthetic world, its terminology, its patient psychology, and what an owner actually deals with day to day, is what separates Social MD from agencies that learned the space from the outside.
The pivot to medical aesthetics came through Blush Med Spa, a single-suite practice in Enfield, Connecticut that Vaughn helped build a social presence for from the ground up. Four years later, Blush was acquired by Advanced MedAesthetic Partners, a PE-backed national platform. The brand's "exceptional growth and community reputation," in the words of AMP's own CEO, made it an acquisition target. Social MD's foundational work was part of what built that reputation.
Today Vaughn works with med spas and aesthetic practices that are serious about growth — operators who understand that social media done right isn't a content calendar, it's a patient acquisition engine.
How We Think
Niche Over Broad
We work in one industry because expertise compounds. Every client we take on makes us sharper. Generalism doesn't create that — depth does.
Systems Over Campaigns
Campaigns are a moment. Systems are permanent. We build infrastructure that generates results whether you're running ads or not — because the assets are yours.
Conversion Over Vanity
Followers, impressions, and reach are not business outcomes. Booked consultations and signed patients are. We measure the things that matter.
Premium Positioning
The practitioners we work with deserve to charge what their expertise is worth. We build the brand infrastructure that makes premium pricing obvious — not aspirational.
Speed and Precision
Every day without a functional acquisition system is revenue left uncaptured. We move quickly because the cost of inaction in this market is real and measurable.
Long-Term Partnership
We don't do project-based engagements for system builds. We work with practices over time because acquisition systems improve with data — and data takes time.
Category Focus
Is Our Advantage
When you work with a generalist agency, you pay for their learning curve every time they take on a new industry. When you work with Social MD, you're accessing frameworks that have been refined specifically for how aesthetic patients discover, evaluate, and choose a practice.
We know the objections before your patients say them. We know which treatment categories convert best through paid media. We know what content drives consultation intent versus what builds passive engagement. We know the compliance considerations that shape what you can and can't say.
That knowledge isn't transferable from another industry. It comes from working exclusively in aesthetics — and it's the reason our clients get results faster than practices working with generalists who have to learn the space at their expense.
We work with medspas, cosmetic clinics, aesthetic injectors, dermatology practices, and plastic surgery groups. If your practice does aesthetic treatments and you want a full patient acquisition system — we built this for you.
